When we think about our lives, we tend to evaluate our lifetimes based upon the past, the present, the future, and the culmination of them all. When we reminisce about our past, it may flood us with emotions when we look back on the events, people, and experiences that we’ve had along the way. When we think about the present, it’s what we have in front of us… it’s tangible and what’s in our control. When we ponder about the future, we can only anticipate how it will unfold.
Anticipation is such a powerful action that can set the stage for not only what’s ahead for us, but how we feel about it… even before it happens. There is a beauty in this power that we all possess, and it begins within our minds. We believe our imagination is merely for dreaming, but it has the capacity to become our reality. What we think about, manifests itself in all areas of our lives. Having the ability to create good, in everything, everyone and everywhere, we have the power to change our entire human experience.
If you expect to see the good, that is what you will see. If your anticipation includes excitement, you will be met with someone or something exciting as a result. If we look for the good in every person and situation, we will surely find it. Even if we endure something negative, we can still choose to take something positive away from it. Every lesson is still a blessing. Every loss still comes with something to gain from it. What persists will continue to exist.
If our anticipation is filled with the expectation of good things to come, then good things will come. If we choose good, good will choose us too. Good will always prevail.
